Her mother told her about Society's perspectivebefore and after Iran became Islamic country |
Moreover, we can see how Marjie’s mother is questioning the Islam “right” or “legitimate” as a religion. Farthermost, a thing that Marjie’s mother implicitly saying is staying away from the Muslim, where the people who do not like Islam and/or Muslim treated them like plague, and over generalizing all Muslims’ people are terrorist. It is undeniable that Islam sometimes related to terrorism, but why do the people do that? It seems that Islam is not the real religion or only the religion who like war, bombing, and attacking another religion.
Therefore, like the postmodernist has said before that all religion is right, there are no best or worst religions. Then why, there are still some people who treated Islam differently and why many Muslim’s people think that their religion is superior to others. This thing also leads to many questions that cannot be answered easily. However, if this always happens, where one religion claims superior and sees others are inferior, the problem will never been solved. Thinking to be an objective’s person in the religion subject matter is hard, because religion is also someone’s identity, and it could be a sensitive subject for someone who cannot differentiate between the learning discussion and the religion discussion.
We know that war still happens in Iran and some people might still think that Islam is a terrorist or some of them still have “Islamophobia”. Thus, it is still questionable for the writer and the readers about where the Islam right as the religion especially when this happens in Iran, and where many people are suffering from a bad treatment that they get from other people who may come from other religions. Moreover, the Iranian also gets inequality just because they are come from a country that uses Islamic system and this inequality leads to bigger issues in the Persepolis 2 story.
